What You Should Know When Getting a Realtor in Mar Vista

California is a very popular state to visit, let alone move to.  If you are thinking about relocating to California, specifically Mar Vista, there are things you should know while starting and going through the process.  Relocation is a big and important step, so you want to be sure you know all the facts when looking for your realtor Mar Vista.

Safety, Police, and Crime Rates

Before shopping around for your realtor Mar Vista, one of the most important things to consider is the crime rate, the competence of the police force, and how safe you will feel in the area.  Mar Vista is known to have both an urban and suburban feel to it.  It has a healthy mix of:

  • Bars
  • Restaurants
  • Quiet areas for older residents
  • Family friendly activities

Mar Vista is said to be more of a quiet, humble place than the more touristy areas like Beverley Hills or Hollywood.  The area is kept clean and there is a strong sense of community.

As for the Mar Vista Police Department, they cover the Mar Vista and Venice area.  Compared to other areas, the crime rate for Mar Vista is relatively low.  The crime rates are said to be 34% lower than the rest of the country and Mar Vista has been established as 78% safer than the rest of California.

That being said, the things you will have to worry about in the area is theft and wildfires.  Theft rates are high in California due to all the glitz, glamor, and celebrities.  As for wildfires, the area is prone to them from July to November.

Schools and Children

Mar Vista is one of the better places in California to have children and raise a family.  There are many international schools in the area that can potentially help children gain more life experience and diversity.  There are also many parks in the area for children to play in and have wholesome, family fun days.

If you’re looking to move to California but want a quieter setting with some occasional action and lots of things to do, Mar Vista is definitely a contender.  However, be aware that if you move here, you should probably invest in some sort of security system for your valuables and be aware of forest fires.  No area is ever perfect and there will always be some negatives with the positives.
